About

I started web development as a hobby in 2021. I'm a behavioural biologist, but as my current project will end in 2025, I plan to make programming my new career. I'm especially intrigued by the aspects of problem solving and logical thinking, and by the prospect that I will never stop learning in this field - just as in science. Web development is cool because you can very literally see the results of your work, but I am also curious about other meaningful and interesting applications for my programming and analytical skills.

FunnyBunnies

Click on the bunnies to make more bunnies appear. Receive points for each bunny clicked, make it to the highscore board and bring honour to your country! Also, bunnies are cute.

Bubbly Balls

Paints colourful bubbles or balls on a canvas. And they move, allowing me to learn about collision detection and calculation of realistic angles. The result was surprisingly pretty...

MyRep2

As a folk musician, I wanted some way to organise my repertoire. Also, there is this great website for Irish tunes, which allows you to enter tunes into your "tunebook" and gives you an automatic selection of tunes to practice according to the principle of spaced repetition. The only drawback is, it only contains tunes the website's owner entered in the database. I wanted to have something similar where the user is in charge of which tunes to enter. Voilà, here is MyRep2.

Animal Quiz

Using the Wikibase REST API, this app gets names and pictures of randomly selected animal species from wikidata.org and asks the user to identify the picture that fits the indicated species. The user can choose whether they would like to be quizzed on mammal or bird species.

a Tic Tac Toe field with crosses and circles

Tic Tac Toe

The classic. Available here in a version for two human players or for a single player. Don't be disappointed: as I implemented the Minimax algorithm without introducing any possibility for suboptimal moves, your best outcome when playing against the computer will be a draw... 😬
